What’s “Inhumane” about?
Our logline is this: A sadistic, small-town sheriff and his cronies brutalize a young woman and leave her for dead in the woods. Bitten by a werewolf and bestowed with supernatural abilities, can she retain her humanity as she exacts revenge?
It’s a female empowerment movie, or to be even more specific, a survivor movie.
We were influenced very much by movies like “The Wolf Man” from 1941, starring Lon Chaney Jr. We loved “Werewolf of London” from 1935, and “Ginger Snaps” from 2000.
Many werewolf movies deal with the protagonist’s struggle with the loss of their humanity. We wanted to differentiate our movie by giving our lead character (a young woman in this case) a reason to give in to that loss of control.
The more the protagonist suffers, the stronger they are for surviving. And make no mistake about it, our lead (named “Lisa”) is a very strong, intelligent, benevolent woman. And she endures unspeakable horrors.
Is she justified in her vengeance? And will revenge ever fill the hole she feels inside of her?
“Inhumane” was also strongly influenced by revenge movies like the original “Robocop,” “Conan,” and “Death Wish,” and movies like “Rolling Thunder” and “Kill Bill.”
In terms of tone, we’re looking to emulate visceral movies like “Green Room” and “You’re Next,” which was also filmed in Missouri.
Finally, we drew inspiration from strong women actors who led movies past, like Sigourney Weaver in “Aliens,” Jamie Lee Curtis in “Halloween,” Sarah Polley in “Dawn of the Dead,” and Lori Cardille in “Day of the Dead.”

Who will my donation help?
Whether public or not, we all know someone who has been affected by sexual violence.
“Every 98 seconds, an American is sexually assaulted. And every 8 minutes, that victim is a child. Meanwhile, only 6 out of every 1,000 perpetrators will end up in prison.”*
#MeToo has rightfully shined a light on this darkness.
Your donation will serve to inform those who are suffering that there is an answer, and hopefully bring to justice those who have wronged them.
Furthermore, as feminists, it is the filmmakers’ sincere hope that the movie is empowering to women everywhere.

How will your movie serve to help?
The filmmakers have decided that they are going to emphasize the survival of the main character, and the strength it takes to survive.
The filmmakers have also decided to take the unique step of including a public service announcement that will run at the end of the credits. We will also include said PSA in any supplemental material in DVD/Blu-ray releases.
This PSA will site some very specific assault statistics, including how 1 in every 6 women in the United States are the victims of an attempted or completed rape, and how 1 in every 10 rape victims are male.*
The PSA will also include the phone number to the National Sexual Assault Telephone Hotline, and the website of the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN). This will enable those who are suffering to find the help they need.

Can I invest in your movie if I don’t want to donate?
Certainly! And we’re offering great terms for investors!
Like with any investment, there is risk involved. But, there is also the possibility of very great returns! And horror is a genre that lends itself well to profit.
We feel options are a good thing, so you can either make a tax-deductible donation to support female empowerment, or you can contact us for details on investing in our movie.

Thank you for helping us spread the word!
Though bad things happen in our movie, it will always be handled with class. Though we adore grindhouse cinema, we decided very early in the process that our movie wouldn’t be exploitive in any way.
Your contribution will help us spread the word, and we intend to do so via any and all digital platforms, physical copies of the movie and hopefully even a theatrical run.
Thank you for believing in us, and helping us make our movie!
Sincerely,
The cast and crew of the motion picture “Inhumane”
